Artificial Grass

Is Better Now Than Ever Before

If you’ve had a family member that had artificial grass in its infancy, you probably remember a landscaping alternative that was weak, uncomfortable and probably nothing like grass at all, more like carpet as we remember it! Because the infancy of artificial grass was nothing but amazing, many people will always remember artificial grass for what it once was. But, modern advancements have made today’s artificial grass more realistic than ever, reminiscent of the greenest, lushest grass you have ever seen. So today, we are going to be going over a few of the reasons why we think artificial grass is better now than ever before!

Modern Turf Is Ultra Realistic

In the past, we have seen the needles of the artificial grass systems, like AstroTruf, being rigid, sharp and being easily bent and won’t pop back into place when they are walked on. But, the days of these systems being unadvanced are long gone, artificial grass offers the look and the feel of natural grass. The modern needles, or blades, of today, are called Omega yarns. The new Omega yarns allow for manufactures to put more than one fiber into the blades of grass with the ability to make a larger array of shapes. There are dual fibers and even triple fibers to make the artificial turf look more realistic than ever before, not to mention make the grass more comfortable and give off a more natural color.

Isn’t Artificial Grass Hot?

Back in the day, sand infills were used to make the grass settle and give the blades rigidity, but sand would always make the grass feel hot to the touch and even impact the temperature of the surrounding areas. While modern grass still uses sand infills, there have been advancements in what can be placed in the sand. For example, there is now an additive on the market that is placed directly over the sand called HydroChill, a precoat, HydroChill is activated anytime water is placed on it, which it holds and over time, the sand can become up to 40-50 degrees cooler! But, the planning of your landscaping should be done accordingly, plant trees where you might want to relax or for pets and children to play.

Adding A Dash Of Flair

We all know how architecture and landscaping is, always cookie cutter and seemingly full of wood, stucco, concrete and rocks. Artificial grass can help separate these common things from clashing while also keeping other aspects of your home or business out of harm’s way. Artificial grass can help break up large expansions of concrete, adding a little more intimacy in the area and can even be used under playgrounds and small open areas for more versatile uses. In terms of how artificial grass can help keep objects safe, we have seen far too many concrete slabs and structures ruined from sprinklers that are too close, weathering them rapidly. We have also seen a few paint jobs on vehicles ruined just to keep the grass green. Artificial grass doesn’t require watering, making it the perfect solution when you need something that is strong, appealing and comfortable.
